Danny Jensen is the author of Los Angeles Scavenger: The Ultimate Search for Los Angeles’s Hidden Treasures. They say nobody walks in LA, but Danny will share with us some of the secrets from his most recent book on how to ditch the car and discover Los Angeles’s hidden treasures you’d otherwise zip past. He will describe how to see the city in new ways as you learn how to locate under-the-radar and iconic landmarks. He will tell us how to set off on an exciting journey to uncover some of the 300 locations he describes in his book in neighborhoods across LA using photos and rhyming clues.
If he looks familiar, he spoke to the SFVHS not long ago on his previous book, Secret Los Angeles: A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful, and Obscure. Danny enthusiastically brings his love for Los Angeles and its hidden histories to our Speaker Meetings at the Andres Pico Adobe. His writing and photography have been published by Time Out, Thrillist, KCET, and others. He's also a board member and Programs Chair of the Los Angeles City Historical Society.
