Nelson's lively, often humorous presentation will include slides showing examples of envelopes, correspondences, express company operations, Gold Rush banking, and stationery of that period.

About the speaker:

  third generation, native-born Angeleno
  paternal great-grandfather came to California in 1849 and arrived in Los Angeles in 1850
  practicing attorney in Glendale; in private practice since 1969

An avid historian, Nelson has served in:
